LITERATURE CITED
Literature cited within the text must be cited by author and year, in chronological order when grouped (or alphabetical order if published in the same year), and must follow the CSE citation style (e.g., Brandt and Coley 2005; Kowalski et al. 2009; Brandt and Coley 2005a, 2007b). Furthermore, it must include the name of the first author and “et al.” when there are four or more authors. If referring to an unpublished work of the author(s), it should be quoted as: “name AB, unpublished data”. If referring to an unpublished work of other author(s), it should be quoted as: “name AB, name CD, personal communication”. The authors are responsible for securing permissions to cite.

LIST OF LITERATURE
It should be arranged alphabetically by the name of the author(s) and then chronologically. Manuscripts not yet published but accepted for publication should be referred to as “in press”. Manuscripts that have not been formally accepted for publication should not be included. The list must follow the guidelines for abbreviations of periodicals as outlined in The Council of Science Editors Style Manual (7th ed., 2006). Unpublished data, personal communications, or manuscripts “in preparation” should not be included. If necessary, such materials may be cited within the text only. The formatting should follow these examples:

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

All materials (text, graphics, etc.) must be submitted electronically. In case of any questions regarding the submission process, please contact the Editorial Support (Editorial Office) at office@btajournal.org. Submitting a manuscript to BioTechnologia implies the author's consent for its publication in both printed and electronic formats.

Language assistance
Authors must ensure that the manuscript is written in correct English. Authors for whom English is a second language may choose to have their manuscript professionally proofread and edited before submission or during the review process. Please contact the Editorial Support (Editorial Office) for further details.

First submission
All sections, from the Title Page to Literature Cited, must be submitted as a single file. Figures and tables, along with their descriptions, should be included at the end of the manuscript. When submitting a manuscript, the ORCID number of each author must be provided.

Revised manuscripts
Manuscripts that are conditionally accepted (i.e., not rejected) must be revised and returned to the Editorial Office within four weeks for review articles or twelve weeks for research articles. Revised manuscripts should be corrected in accordance with the Reviewers’ suggestions or include a well-founded justification for any suggested changes that have been disregarded.

Submission of accepted manuscripts
The submission requirements remain the same as for the initial submission, with the exception of figures. Figures must be submitted as separate files, and if a figure consists of multiple parts (e.g., 1A, 1B...), each part should be uploaded individually. They should be provided in one of the following formats: .tif, .eps, .xls, .doc, .jpg, or .png. If it is not possible to submit figures in any of these formats, authors should contact the Editorial Office for further guidance. The preferred resolution is 600 dpi for line figures and 300 dpi for halftones to ensure optimal quality. Additionally, color figures should be prepared in CMYK mode rather than RGB.

Proofs
The Corresponding Author will receive a proof for final corrections. The proof must be returned to the Editorial Office within seven working days. All corrections should be clearly marked on the proof and accompanied by a note stating: “Page xx, line yy; it is ...; it should be ...” If the Corresponding Author does not return the proof within the given timeframe, it will be assumed that the editorial corrections have been accepted without objections.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Types of manuscrips
The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts: reviews (with no fixed length, although they should be as concise as possible), mini-reviews (up to five pages), research articles, short communications (up to three pages), and methodological papers. All submissions to BioTechnologia undergo peer review and must meet specific substantive and editorial quality standards.

Assurance of originality
Submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Biotechnology, Computational Biology and Bionanotechnology implies that the work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Materials ownership
All figures, photographs, tables, or other components of the manuscript that have been previously published or do not belong to the authors must be properly acknowledged. The corresponding author is responsible for obtaining permission to republish these materials from the copyright holder, whether it is an individual or an institution (e.g., the publisher).

Copyright transfer
As a condition of publication, authors must grant an exclusive license to the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry. Authors retain the right to use their own material in other publications, provided that BioTechnologia is acknowledged as the original place of publication and the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry is cited as the publisher. The Copyright License Form (Copyright Assignment Form) must be signed and submitted upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication. By signing the Copyright Assignment Form, the author(s) hereby transfer(s) and assign(s) all copyright to the Committee of Biotechnology and the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, as the publisher of the Journal of Biotechnology, Computational Biology and Bionanotechnology. Additionally, authors agree to the publication of the full text of their submission online at www.biotechnologia-journal.org. Authors must also disclose any potential conflicts of interest and confirm that the submitted work does not involve ghostwriting or honorary authorship. For more specific requirements for BioTechnologia authors, please refer to the Manuscript Submission Form.

Bioethical agreement
If a manuscript includes research involving human or animal subjects, a declaration must be provided stating that the appropriate ethics commission has been notified thereof and has approved the study. For studies involving human subjects, the manuscript must explicitly state that the research complied with all relevant national regulations and institutional policies and was approved by the authors' institutional review board or an equivalent ethics committee. Copies of relevant guidelines and policy statements must be available for review by the Managing Editor if required. All research involving human subjects must adhere to the principles outlined in the Helsinki Declaration. For studies involving animal subjects, the manuscript must confirm compliance with all applicable national regulations and institutional policies. The research must have been approved by the authors' institutional review board or an equivalent ethics committee. Copies of guidelines and policy statements must be available for review by the Managing Editor if necessary. Research involving animals should be conducted in accordance with the Principles of Laboratory Animal Care.

Review process
Manuscripts that comply with the journal’s submission guidelines are subject to peer review. Reviewers are selected by the editors based on the subject matter of the submitted article. Each manuscript undergoes a double-blind review process, meaning that authors do not know the identity of their reviewers, and reviewers are unaware of the authors' identities. Reviewers assess submissions using an electronic system, based on a predefined set of evaluation criteria tailored to the manuscript’s topic. They may also provide additional individual comments. A manuscript is accepted for publication only after the Editor-in-Chief receives positive evaluations from independent experts.
